Fork Photos :: Savor the Summit

Park City is such a great escape from Salt Lake City, especially during the summer when it’s nearly 100 degrees in the valley.  Park City is an even better retreat for food, as I recently discovered, especially when enjoying outside.  Dining on the patio in the cool, crisp air is a perfect way to spend a summer day (or night).

Silver’s menu for Savor the Summit.
Last weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to the Savor the Summit event, the annual al fresco dinner where one verrrry long table stretches the length of Main Street and thousands of people get together for good food, good wine and a great time.  I attended the first Savor the Summit event in 2009 and it seems to have only gotten more extravagant since.  This year I ate at Silver.  It was my first experience with the restaurant and I was quite impressed with the food and wine pairings, especially the cold beet soup with jalapeno ice cream (one of those sounds-crazy-but-tastes-awesome dishes).
Carrot cake topped with fried carrots.
Normally I snap a photo of everything I eat, but decided to simply savor my meal and enjoy the company I was with.  Good for my evening, not good for my blog!  So accept my apologies that there is only a tiny glimpse of Silver’s food.  The restaurant is currently running a two-for-one special, so I’m hoping to dine there again soon–and I promise to take lots of pictures!
Thank you, Kristian, for the wonderful evening at Savor the Summit!
