Aside from my numerous posts on Japan
, I haven’t been blogging that much lately. But don’t worry, I’ve been keeping plenty busy and enjoying some amazing meals–just not writing about them. It’s easy to get caught up in the obsession that is writing about food; therefore taking pictures of every plate, analyzing the taste of every bite and critically deciding whether or not I liked the restaurant. But sometimes I feel that that conflicts with the best part of a good meal: those you share it with.

So lately my focus has been on enjoying the moment–and the food–without the intention of blogging about it later. I know, how selfish of me. But allowing myself to be captivated by those I’m dining with, engulfed in our conversation and the general enjoyment of a good meal brought back the focus of why I love food so much. (As if I could forget!)
1. Better Burger food truck; 2. Vida Tequila margarita @ Snowbird; 3. Pork Belly @ Finca.
4. Epic Beer & Taza Chocolate class @ Caputo’s; 5. Les Madeleines; 6. BBQ @ Aristo’s.
7. Bacon-wrapped peach @ Taste of Wasatch; 8. Lunch @ Copper Onion; 9. Waki Paki food truck.
All via Instagram.
And I’ve had some excellent meals lately: brunch at Trio (try the polenta eggs benedict!), the Thursday night barbecue at Aristo’s (the lamb shank and garlic burger are to die for!), lunch at Finca (just thinking of the pork belly makes me drool!), dinner on Fresco’s amazing patio (the whole meal left me speechless), lunch at Copper Onion (their newly remodeled space is definitely worth a visit), and even some tasty Thai food at Sawadee. Not to mention the Taste of the Wasatch food event, brunch at Lucky 13 (yes they have brunch and yes it is as amazing as their burgers) and Food Truck Thursdays at the Gallivan Center. As you can see, I’ve been Instagram-ing a lot, which I tend to do, but not writing full on posts.
But not to worry, I have fun posts in the works so stay tuned! In the meantime, follow me on Instagram (I’m kelli_nak).
